Installing SL512EC in a rack case

Hi there!

I would like to mount my SL512EC interface in a more robust metal case - most probably a 1U rack case.

I don't see a problem with extending the USB and DMX interfaces, but I would like to extend the three LED indicators (Power, DMX and USB) as well.

I can see there is a header block inside the SL512EC which appears to have the LED outputs on it.

Has anyone out there tried this job before? I really need to know if it is OK to connect external LEDs to the header block, and if I need any external resistors to drive the LEDs.

We are building and opto isolator splitter which has the interface in it, we extend the leds to the front of our splitter from the inside connector.
We add 330 ohms resistors in series with the leds.
