[siudi 8a] Firmware upgrade

Post by racso »

Hello,

I have downloaded the lasted version of sunlight 2 ( 16 feb 2012 ) and upgrading my firmware (1.0.7) to 1.08 ( Jan 27 2012 )
does'nt work.

I have try'ed 2 diffent machines, with windows XP 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit, But both are not updating the firmware.
When i start the tools application it found my usb-interface, it give's the message i need to update the firmware, when clicking the button it looks like it write's the firmware, the connection to the usb interface lost, i't come's back on-line and say's again that i need to update my firmware, and it looks like it done nothing.

Do you know any solution so i can use the newst version of sunlight 2 ( where the new firmware 1.0.8 is required )

Sometimes we have found problems when upgrading from firmware 1.07 to 1.08 with the SIUDI8 interface. You may need to start your interface in bootloader mode.

power off your interface
create a shortcut on p2-p3-p4-GND ports (a quick way is to use a ball of foil)
power on your interface
start tools.exe
update the firmware
power off your interface
remove the shortcut
power on your interface
start tools.exe
update the firmware again

Thanks Simon.

I hit the same issue, but a bit of careful tin foil moulding did the trick.

Interface now at Firmware 1.08 and Suite 2 (15th Feb release) working fine.

Cheers, Vince
