advice needed : koordination of fixtures examble pairs each

Post by steen4sun »

LED uplights
each half placed on each side of a room.

whats the easiest way to create
1)
a sequence or show where one fixture on each side has got the same colour.
AND
2)
a sequence where examble two fixtures are running first on one side the on the other "like the clock big ben".

I started creating groups for each pair.
then create switches for each combination of group and colour, but that can create a huge amount of switches ...
so a good idea is needed.

can I use the sequencing numbering inside a group ... and how ?

Hi
wasn't easy to write as well ... :-(
Ok, I got an idea to explain it a different way :

fixture placement :

===== wall =====
x1 x2 x3 x4 x5 x6

people ...

y1 y2 y3 y4 y5 y6
===== wall =====

I want to make sure that I control x1 and y1 and the same time.
( x1,y1 ) turns blue ( x2,y2 ), then (x3,y3 ) ....
and
that Im able to create a run which turns ... ( x4, x5 ) red, then ( x5,x6 ) then ( x6,y1 ) then ( y1,y2 ) ...

My first idea was to create groups ( x1,y1 ), ( x2, y2 ) ( x3, y3 ) ...
And then create switches for each colour I wanted to use but ... that means many switches.

I hope this is possible to understand.

I had a thought that numbering inside a group could help but if I :
create numbering
x1,y1,x2,y2,x3,y3 ...

Then If I choose easytime, chaser effect, it wont work because I can't change "the step length".
the chaser ( size 2 ) lights up :
(x1,y1),
then (y1,x2) ( which I dont want ),
( x2,y2 ) Ok,
( y2,x3 ) ( which I dont want ),
...

Okkkkk !!!!! :)

You have to work with "Fixture Order" in "Easy Time" and create as many profiles you want.
So you will be able to chase in any order you want simply by choosing the good order profile.

But... it's very difficult to explain by text... just try it ;)

The link is a test show using "Fixture Order" to make what i understand about your problem.
