Windows 8 64bit Support?
When will Windows 8 be supported.
I currently have final Windows 8 64bit on some of my Computers and it seems, that the Software itself isn't compatible (something about not able to use usb high precision USB timer on startup) and the Drivers arent compatible due to missing driver signatures.
Regards
Andreas

We haven't tested with Windows 8 yet. We will begin testing after it has been released in its final version.

Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
Windows 8 was released in its final version on 8/1/2012 and it was released to MSDN (Developers to download) on 8/15/2012. I know this as I am a Microsoft employee. So, with that said... Windows 8 is out and available for you to start your process of determining why it doesn't work. I have to have this working am willing to beta test if need be. I will not be able to run your product and will have to return it if I can't get this working.
Thanks,

Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
It already has been released in it's final Version (For TechNet and Business Customers)
I think the only Problem is the Driver signature. While you can install a not properly signed Driver in Windows 7 by confirming a warning message, this is no longer possible in Windows 8 (as Microsoft promissed since Windows Vista)
At the Moment, I have a dual boot configuration with 7 and 8, but 8 is much faster on boot, that's why I prefer to use win8 only. At the Moment, there is no hurry to Support win8 but it would be nice within the next few months.

We have higher priorities right now. We'll look into Windows 8 compatibility towards the end of the year.

Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
any plan to develop Sunlite 2 for Osx?
Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
There are no plans for this. The job is too big and we don't have the resources for a complete software re-write at the moment. If we ever do it will be a 5 year project.

Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
Ok,
I would like to use Sunlite 2 with the next slates and Windows 8, for example the new Acer W700 (available in USA on 26 October, I donno when in Europe). It's enough powerful.
If I buy one slate how can I start Sunlite 2 without attach the dmx dongle? Does exist an ethernet dongle? How costs? Where is possible to purchase it?

Suite 2 is not officially compatible with these kind of devices. We will begin testing the software on these once they have been released. For now we advise to use EasyRemote on an iPad or Android Tablet.

Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
Has development begun for the support of Windows 8? I really need this.
Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
As far as I know not yet. This really isn't a priority for us at the moment.

Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
That really is not an answer I wanted to hear. This costs me the cost of an additional machine and will not allow me to run your software beyond the time that another company gets support. I will start testing other software as I can't afford to run yours if I have to bring two machines to get yours to run. It is my understanding that it is just a driver issue for the device.
Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
If you're using OSx and you don't want to buy an extra machine, install bootcamp
If you're using Windows 8, you need to bypass the driver verification:
1. Windows Key + R
2. Enter shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
3. Click the "OK" button
4. System will restart to a "Choose an option" screen
5. Select "Troubleshoot" from "Choose an option" screen
6. Select "Advanced options" from "Troubleshoot" screen
7. Select "Windows Startup Settings" from "Advanced options" screen
8. Click "Restart" button
9. System will restart to "Advanced Boot Options" screen
10. Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"
11. Once the system starts, install the driver
We are currently in the process of getting the drivers verified, after this has been done you will not need to do the above workaround.

Re: Windows 8 64bit Support?
Are there any news or a date when drivers are verified to use for windows 8?simonB wrote:We are currently in the process of getting the drivers verified, after this has been done you will not need to do the above workaround.
Or is it still working?
Thanks in advance.
