Dry contact ports not working

Post by Stockeld »

Hi all

I hope someone can help me.

I've set up a new SLESA UE7 to run some simple cues that are trigged by push buttons. I've programmed the cues into the module and I can scroll between the cues with the buttons on the top. However I don't seem to be able to control them with the dry contact ports. At first I thought it might be my buttons or cabling that didn't work. However I have tried shorting across the pins between one pin and ground and I still don't seem to be able to trigger them.

Any thoughts what I am doing wrong? Is there something I need to do in the set up?

Many thanks in advance

Hi Ben,

Thank you for your post. In order to activate a scene using the dry contact ports, it needs to be programmed with a port assigned to it. The default demo show does not include any scenes with port triggers assigned. This may be why your port triggers are not working?

Here is a section in the ESA2 manual showing how to program scenes with port triggers. The process is very similar in ESA Pro.

You can test if your physical ports are working using HardwareManager which is included with ESA2 and ESA Pro. See image attached.

Information about how to trigger the ports by shorting the GND + port pin is included on the datasheet ...

Does this help?

Kind Regards,

Nick
