Firmware Update

I've just downloaded ESA to my new laptop with Windows 8.1. I'm told to update Firmware, but I can't get it to work. It sits there and does nothing. I've followed instructions by turning off the device holding down the - button and powering on. My serial number is 259144.
I've tried using ESA2 but no luck with that either.
