[solved] Is the July beta 64 bit only?

The July Beta doesn't run on 32 bit windows. I get a dialog box that says ... "Suite2.exe is not a valid WIN32 application."

Is this intentional? Are you no longer supporting 32 bit windows as of now with sunlite?

*update* This is an issue with Windows XP, not a 32/64 bit issue. So I upgraded to Win 7 and that solved everything.

Hello,

Suite 2 is not 64 bits exclusive.

I think there is a problem in your download (try to download it again) or maybe the executable compilation is wrong.

I don't have a 32bits windows available to test it myself... sorry.
I have send a message to the developpers to check.

Regards,
Gaël

Gaël is right, the software should work on 32 & 64 bit operating systems.

Try downloading again and reinstalling.

Hi guys. I downloaded it again and installed it but it still doesn't work. It goes all the way through the installer without a problem. But it fails at the very end when it tries to run Suite2.exe with this error message:
Unable to execute file: c:\SunliteSuite2\suite.exe
CreateProcess failed, code 193.
%1 is not a valid Win32 application.
Also, I tried HardwareManager.exe and it failed with "missing MSVCR100.DLL". So I downloaded the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from Microsoft's web site, and that fixed the problem with HardwareManager.exe, ScanLib.exe and EasyView.exe all work now. But Suite2.exe, EasyShow.exe and MCBuilder.exe fail with the same error message. Also I compared the MD5 hash from the file I download before and the one I just downloaded (sun_suite2beta.exe) and they are identical.

FYI the previous version of Sunlite from Feb 15th installs perfectly and runs fine....

I'm going to check this with our developers and see if we can reproduce the problem. I will let you know as soon as I have more information.
