Feature Request Virtual Dimmer Chanel for RGB

Hi,

most of the RGB Fixtures do also have a Dimmer channel eg Dimmer +R +G +B so running chaser against thos channels is pretty easy.
Just add an sinus (or whatever you prefer) to the Dimmer channel and you get a chase that run in the colors set to the fixture.

However i try to stick to plain RGB for the Programming as there mid be fixture is get for a show that are just RGB so that the show does still work.
So to overcome the then missing Dimmer Channel i like to get an Virtual Dimmer Channel for such fixtures that only have RGB so that in Easytime you could not just select Color and then in the Effekt red/green/blue you aslo would have a kind of Dimmer chanel. Like on the GrandMA :)

I've moved it to high priority so we'll try and have it sorted before the end of the year

It seems that this has still not been implemented.

Is there any way in creating a special ficture preset in order to have a virtual dimmer which is not assigned to a 4th DMX channel?
Currently I have 2x RGB fixtures which should have a dimmer channel in order to programm chases which can be changed in color by the color wheel...

DMXControl have a way to solve this within the device definition file:

http://www.dmxcontrol.de/wiki/Sonstige_ ... Procedures

Is there any way, or must we wait until this is implemented?

Cheers,
O.

The only way to achieve something like this at the moment is to make a separate switch and set the priority to 'SUB' (subtract from current level). We want to implement this but have too many other things to do right now

..well it works, but the problem is that if you add the same fixture to the master page, it mixes up with the dependancies of the other fixtures on the master page if you want to have a master dimmer fader and/or buttons which combine the RGB fixture with the subtracted priority button and another fixture which has an onboard dmx channel...

...hoping that this will be solved soon. Propably the forthcoming scan library editor has a virtual dimmer funktion?

Cheers,
O.

I appreciate that feature, too. For my COB LED BARs is it impossible to create any chasers for each pixel, e.g. no random strobe or meteor effects.
