Switch fading

Post by MarkoftheWild »

Hey Everybody. Merry Christmas to all!

I have questions about switch settings and fades.

I have set up a few of our up lights to fade in at 4 seconds. Right now they are just red, blue and white. These switches are on the "up lights" page and are not attached to the master page. How can I make it release the switch if I want to have another color fade in?

For example. I hit the red fade switch and the lights fade to full red in 4 seconds. I then want to hit the blue fade switch and have it release the red switch making the lights blackout and then fade into blue. Right now all they do is fade between the colors.

I have experimented with the button settings, the add, sub, HTP etc and it would seem that they may not be working, or at least as i think how they are supposed to work.

Also while we are on the subject, just to make sure that I know what I am doing, any way to get a detail explanation of the the button settings, the htp, ltp, add, etc? These functions are not in the manual.

Thanks Again

Hi Mark

1. Go into the RED switch button editor and use the DIMMER property on your Red channel and the ON property on your other channels.
2. Go into the BLUE switch button editor and use the DIMMER property on your Blue channel and the ON property on your other channels.

The ON property allows you to set a level for a channel with dimmer commands disabled

Regarding the button priorities, looks like I missed this, I'll need to add it.

-Let's say we are using 1 par can with 1 dimmer channel.
-We have 2 switches.
-Switch 1 is enabled and has the value 234 stored.
-We are about to activate switch 2 which has the value 50 stored.

LTP (Latest takes priority) : 50
HTP (Highest takes priority) : 234
ADD (Add to the current level) : 284
SUB (Subtract from the current level) : 184
Add Sub: Forget about this, we are removing it.
LowTP (Lowest takes priority) : 50
