Chase Switches/Colors

Post by MarkoftheWild »

OK, I love the chases but now i need to set up colors for the chases. I have been thinking this one through and am a little stumped. Maybe you can help out on this as well.
Its my understanding that to make a switch for a specific channel ie. color, gobo etc... You would make an empty switch, turn on and set the channel you want and leave everything else off. It would then turn on the selected channel for what ever scene you have running.

Since the chases are already switches that wont work. So i created a scene out of the switches using the save as you see feature. No problem. I then made a switch for red. All it did was to turn all the lights red with no chase.

I made a scene on the master page and then the switch on the chase page, still no luck.

There has got to be a way to control the color of the chases. Any ideas?

Thank You

Hi Mark,

Yes, there are two ways, but none of them is "on the fly".
First you can simply change the colors in the Easytime Color FX block,
I think you already knew that.
Secound you can use palettes and then change the palettes to edit the chase corlors.

Hi Gernot,

Thank Again for all you guys do. Everyone of you guys have been a great help. I will adjust certain colors in the FX block, but no way to do so on the fly?

There's GOT to be a way....

I'm gonna figure this one out. With all that S2 can do, as powerful as it it is, I will find a way!

I'll keep you informed.

Play with the switch priorities...ADD, SUB etc..
I don;t know how Gernot created the chases and if the lights have dimmer/shutter channels or if the chases are directly on the RGB channels, so I can't give a specific answer...but I'm sure it will be possible.

I will try all the above and i will also send you the latest showfile later today.

Thanks again

That´s a nice approach to change chase colors on the fly, but when working on a multicolor chase you can only modify all colors at the same time.
So this will be a little "random" and you have to calculate the result color.
Maybe you can add a feature to edit palettes on the fly, that would make it very easy to change colors of a chase.
At the moment you have to go to the palettes editor, change the palett and save or close the editor.
Changing a palette on the fly could be interessting for other tasks as well.
