need help with sl512ec

bought a complete lightset (8scans,pars etc..) and a laptop with sunlite 2004 (15 apr 2004 stamped on cd) and a sl512ec, box is fluorenscent green

I connect the dongle, and installed driver and 2004 version of sunlite

the yellow led is on the red is blinking fast, the green blinks sometimes
is this right ?

than I conect only 1, 4ch. dimmerpack, make a simple scene but nothing happens..??

when I start up sl I see that the software reconizes the dongle.

tried out different sl versions with no succes.

also checked firmware, this was already up-to-date...

another hardware question
there is an empty 8dip socket on the pcb, on the other site there is an smd part, I read somewere around this forum, if you have problems replace the ic in this socket....???

does it needs an ic ? if so what type ?

another question, where are the 2 buttons for on the dongle ?

pse help, this whole dongle thing is making me crazy

Try your interface with the Easy Stand Alone software that should be available from your cdrom. This will help to check if the interface works or not.

I installed the easy stand alone from cd, the software reconizes the dongle but still nothing on the output....

I have dmx output (checked with scope)

but I checked a few things, one of them is that the output dmx voltage is low about 2.3 volt max.
and this is to low for ttl switching.

if I check my other dongles and my dmx table then this is about 5volt...

I thing this voltage is to low so I'm going to build a dmx booster and see if this is the problem...

the constuction of this dongle is a bit wierd, the output ic is working on 3.3volt, al the other dmx stuff I have this is 5volt and the output ic is an 75176, the smd on the sl is similar but only for 3.3volts...???
how you people get this dongle to work ?

yep.... got it to work via the dmx booster......

all my scans, par-leds and powerpacks are function like it should be.

and... they way I made it, it's now also secured (no direct connection) with the pc...

used parts 2n137 opto-coupler / nme0505 dc-dc converter / sn75176
and an 78L05
