dry contacts functionality

Post by brightsparks »

Hello My brothers,

I am looking at pricing up a job right now, that is for a temporary interactive lighting display.
I am planning on using a FC+, with a computer left on site to run this display.
It is going to be a lot of pixels running across multiple universes of Artnet.
What i want to find out is it possible to program the dry contact ports, to trigger different scenes at different times of the day?

Best Regards,
Mick.

following on from the above post:
I would also like to use the 8 dry contact ports for triggering scenes.
Ulitmately I want to be able to use all of the contacts simultaneously.
In my experience to date, when a contact is closed, all of the others are locked out until that one has been opened.

Is this the case???
OR
Can I have multiple contacts being closed at the same time to trigger different scenes??

Best R's
Mick

Hi Mick

You can trigger a scene by date and time, more info here:

You can trigger a scene with the dry contact ports. More info here:

When you press a port, the ports aren't actually locked out. The interface actually supports binary port triggering which allows you to combine ports together to trigger up to 255 different scenes. If you don't need this functionality and you want to trigger 2 different ports at the same time, you could try to disable the binary port triggering. This can be done by opening tools.exe and navigating to the 'Parameters' tab, then disabling 'Binary mode (ports)'.
