STICK Questions

ok i have been playing around a bit and have figured out some of my questions (like how to make the dimmer bar dim the full 8 steps and not just 4) but there are still a few questions left (i am running ESA Pro Sep 29 beta, Firmware 1.11)

1: what do you have to do to make the input ports work when they are not programed to a button? (there are only 40x buttons and you can have 255 remote buttons)
2: if some of the lights in scene 1 are already on (via calendar or someone left them on) and after activating a port (say port 1) (that was set to run scene 1, once) after the scene finishes why is it they don't just go back to what they were doing before? or how do you make them go back to what they were doing?
for say if it was setup to have the outside lights red/green around Christmas and you have a motion detector that makes them go white/bright when someone triggers the sensor then they should go back to there scheduled program (red and green) till the calendar or someone dose something else
2a: if you have one of the input ports set to run a scene 1x time and you pressed the button and it did it's thing how long do you have to wait before you can press it again so it will do it's thing again? or do you have to press another button first?
3: if you are using RGB led lights and you have say 3x zones buttons 1-3 and you want to be able to set the color of one of the zones (scene) with the color bar, how do you make it only change that zone? when i try it it all 3 come on and go to that color?
4: is there any way to program the IR codes to the Bright Dimm buttons or speed change buttons?
5: is there any way to make it so when you hold either side of the color bar (buttons 0 and 9) you can manually dimm or brighten the lights (so you have more then the 8x steps? this could also be used so you could program a remote to control the brightness easier.
6: can you program the IR remote to control any of the 40 buttons directly so you don't have to make sure it is on the right page when you press a button?

Hi
1: what do you have to do to make the input ports work when they are not programed to a button?
I'm not sure if I understand your question here. If you don't assign a port to a scene, it won't do anything.
2: How do you make them go back to what they were doing?
The STICK works in page priority order (well at the moment it does, I am trying to persuade the developers to add a "Latest Takes Priority" option). In your example, you would want to add your port triggers from the sensors on page A and your background scenes on page E (eg the red and green) so whenever the sensor is triggered, the white scene on page A will loop once overriding the Red/Green trigger on page E, then after the white scene is finished and is deactivated, the priority will then fall down to page E.
2a: if you have one of the input ports set to run a scene...how long do you have to wait before you can press it again
Every time you press a button on the STICK, the scene is reset, the same rules should apply with the port triggers. Let me know if this is incorrect. Note that each button does have a wait time before accepting a new request, I think the default for this is less than 1 second, you can modify this wait time within the hardware tools.
you have say 3x zones buttons 1-3 and you want to be able to set the color of one of the zones (scene) with the color bar
You assign one zone per page. For example zone 1-3 on pages A-C and a global zone on page D. If you have page A selected and a scene on page A activated and you move the color fader, the lights in zone 1 will change colour, all other zones won't be affected. If you then want to control all fixtures together, select a scene on page D and move the color fade (make sure there are no overriding scenes activated on pages A-C).
4: is there any way to program the IR codes to the Bright Dimm buttons or speed change buttons?
Not at the moment but there will be an official STICK remote control released soon which will probably have these features
5: is there any way to make it so when you hold either side of the color bar (buttons 0 and 9) you can manually dimm or brighten the lights (so you have more then the 8x steps?
Drag your finger across the color bar instead of pressing on the different points, this will gradually change the dimmer speed and color. Every 3-6 times your drag, you will notice the next LED light up.
6: can you program the IR remote to control any of the 40 buttons directly so you don't have to make sure it is on the right page when you press a button?
Not at the moment, again this feature will probably be available when the official remote is released

Hi Desta

Sorry for the late reply, your post got caught in the spam filter.

There are a few new features since we last spoke:
1. There is now a Latest Takes Priority mode so the last scene you press always takes priority over everything else.
2. The official STICK IR remote is available as part of the com+ package and it is possible to control the speed/dimmer/colour of a scene with this.
3. The SmartPhone applications are now available for free from the app store, android market and from http://www.lightingsoft.com

The com+ package is $199 rrp and includes the ethernet add on and official infra red remote
