English lang gone only french on my sunlite workspace

Dear Friends,

I just installed my sunlite suite software on a new pc, and everything was ok. Then i installed the interface and installed the drivers from the original cd. Now the entire software changed to french and the english item is greyed out in the interface. Its a little urgent can any of you help me please ?

Hi Gernot,

The link you showed me basically has someone compaining he doesnt have russian enabled on the software ?. Thats if understand his broken rambling.

Im talking about english. Its a basic language which should be there. And when i bought it they should have informed me that this interface wont support english. I think its very unfair to sell a software knowing that they are selling it to india since it was shipped by nicolaudie america's office. And they only shipped it to me in India, they billed it to my address in India, UPS'ed it. Then now to say that the box shipped out wont work with english is an outright misleading sale isnt it.

The software shows in english on the screen, but the minute you connect the interface it defaults to french and other langueages with english being deactivated.

Maybe you can also talk about an upgrade to a Sunlite Suite 2 interface,
Suite 2 is much more powerful and has some really nice features.

Why would i have to buy the next higher version when i havent even used this even once. I dont even know what features this has, theres a lot of time to first feel the need for more features (with more complications). I think its just not right that they sold me a box knowing im in india, and wrote their software in such a way it will deactivate english.

I called Mr.Bruno Falip on a long distance call and had a long talk with him. He accepts that its unfair to have a language deactivated when i have bought the original product from Nicolaudie America with an official bill. My interface might be 5-6 years old. But that has nothing to do with having a universal language deactivated and that too not informing me during the sale. In fact when i bought it the sales person Mr.Roberto Malveaz informed me that theres no problem with the software and hardware thats time bound and theres no absolute compulsion to keep upgrading. He said if im happy with my interface i could keep using it for how many ever years i wanted to. And thats only fair. SO what if i wanted to keep my box for 5 years without using it. I bought it then because i could afford it then and i thought some day when i acquire my lights ill use it. Now i have my lights and i have every right to use the box. This seems like either a very bad practice or a very big mistake on Sunlite's part.

However Mr.Bruno was understanding. He promised to solve the problem and probably exchange the product for a proper box of the same kind. But before that i called Nicolaudie America (because i faintly remembered this problem occured 5 years back immediately after purchase and they helped me solve it) and Mr.Adam there suggested i try installing the latest version of sunlite and that worked. Now the software menu layout is in english and it stays that way.

But i have one suggestion for Sunlite. The new Scan Library Wizard seems very unintuitive to use and blunt and it takes a very long time to figure out how to add a fixture, till now i cant figure out how to add channels to a fixture and create presets. Theres no help manual onboard, but theres a help button, clicking it says go online for help. Thats not good. Like most other softwares there should be a hlep manual onboard. What if the system its being used on has no internet or is never connected to the net (for stability and safety reasons). Maybe its a dedicated machine that the user doesnt want to connect to the next and expose to viruses / unneccesary updates etc.

I have now installed the old Scan Library Wizard on my normal pc and am creating the fixtures there. Is it possible to install the old ScanLibrary Wizard by cutting and pasting the .exe file into the new Sunlite folder so that when i click the scan library button the old wizard appears ???

I see nonone technical is monitoring these forums and volunteering to help. :(

If you prefer to use the old version, you can copy and paste the scan library exe from an old version of sunlite, however the newer version is really much simpler, quicker and more powerful

Dear Simon,

Your directing me to the manual for Sunlite Suite 2. A software which does not apply to me because i have downloaded and installed Sunlite 2006. SL 2 may not even run with my old hardware box, even though its brand new and this is the first time im using it after years have passed since i bought it.

The software im using shows 24 Dec 2007. But the download link says 2006. And the easy view shows some other year. How is a customer supposed to know which one works with which and what combination works with what hardware ? And which manual goes with which version. There seems to be one manual for a very old sunlite version and then in your downloads theres no manual for the years after that. And now only a manual for SUNLITE 2 ???? What do i do then, wheres the official pdf manual for the software that im using now (since you want us to be online to use your manual) ? Suppose someone is in a disco / auditorium during a show he should connect to the internet for just reading the help file ???

Im very sorry but the software manner, layout, version matching etc is very disorganized. You should look at your product from the customers point of view and justify. Still even the easy view shows some menu buttons in foriegn language, which i discovered only now as im trying it more n more. Whats "annueller" mean on a button and why is it there on an english menu system ????

Why cant i see any rotating gobos please ? The gobo wont rotate in the 3d viewer ? And this is supposed to be a visualizer ?

Plz do help me use your software for at least a few shows for the money i spent on it. After that at least i can afford to stop using it and buy some other software which is in proper english and organized.

No I'm not. I'm directing you to the scan library manual.

Go to the website, click the button on the front page which says Sunlite Suite 1. This setup file will contain the latest compatible versions.

The manual I linked you to is the latest version. This comes with the latest version at the link I have given you. Make sure you save your profile in the SSL1 format supported by Sunlite Suite 1.
There seems to be one manual for a very old sunlite version and then in your downloads theres no manual for the years after that
Click Sunlite Suite then click Sunlite Suite Manual. We do not have a downloadable version of the scan library manual right now so you will need to view the online manuals link I sent.

You're using Sunlite Suite. So click Sunlite Suite, then click Sunlite Suite Manual.

this is the first time im using it after years have passed since i bought it.
We haven't sold this product for almost 3 years. You purchased an electronic piece of kit and you didn't use it for 3 years?
