DMX Signal output is low?! what to do?

Hello, we have several of your econo boxes and one of them has low output compared to the others. We used a DMX data detector (leds wired with male xlr job) and found the output straight out of the box has a lower signal..much lower actually. Do we need to change the driver chip in this unit? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the great work on Sunlite... and the continued support for your product!ADAM
