Hi,

today i connected the SLESA-U5 to our laptop (pentium-III, 850MHz, WindowsXP). in stand-alone mode, everything works fine, but in Editor/Live-Mode, all fixtures and connected PAR Cans flicker every second or twice in a second. are there any USB Bugs known with the SLESA-U5?

Because of this flickering, its impossible to programm any scenes...

Thanks

Ciao
Martin

Your computer must be USB 2.0 compatible. This is probably the problem.

Hello; I purchased the same unit in Feb 2009. We are experiencing the exact opposite problem. When the laptop computer is connected, the DMX signal is steady. Switching to ESA mode is fine, until the USB cable is un-plugged. Once the USB cable is un-plugged, the lights flicker, and the DMX signal is not stable (the NSI Dimmers have a DMX signal LED on the front. When the DMX signal is good, the LED flashes at a steady rate). This is seen for the first 30 seconds after the USB cable is disconnected. In the last few days this problem has gotten worse, so now the lights flicker randomly in ESA mode.
The SLESA-U5 unit is powered externally with a +12V 500ma power supply.
Any suggestions or help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark Warren

Try to replace the RS485 driver (DMX chipset). You cant take the component used for the DMX IN connector instead.
